This delicious Thai dish is a must-try for those who love spicy and tangy flavors :fire:. Here is the recipe for making authentic Thai Pad Thai at home.
Ingredients:
- 8 oz. rice noodles
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 1/2 cup tofu, cut into small pieces
- 1/4 cup roasted peanuts, coarsely chopped
- 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 shallot, minced
- 2 tbsp. fish sauce
- 1 tbsp. tamarind paste
- 1 tbsp. palm sugar
- 1/2 tsp. paprika powder
- 1/4 tsp. chili powder
- 1 egg
- 2-3 green onions, thinly sliced
- 2-3 lime wedges
Instructions:
- Soak the rice noodles in hot water for 10 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- In a wok or large pan, heat the vegetable oil over high heat. Add garlic and shallot and stir until fragrant.
- Add tofu and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until lightly browned.
- Add fish sauce, tamarind paste, palm sugar, paprika powder, and chili powder. Stir-fry for 30 seconds.
- Push the ingredients to one side of the wok, crack the egg into the wok and scramble it with a spatula until cooked.
- Add the rice noodles and stir-fry everything for 2-3 minutes until the noodles are soft and cooked.
- Add bean sprouts and green onions, then continue to stir-fry for another minute.
- Serve hot with roasted peanuts, lime wedges and extra bean sprouts on top.
