Indian Butter Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces 🍗
- 1 cup full-fat yogurt 🍦
- 1 tbsp ginger paste 🧄
- 1 tbsp garlic paste 🧄
- 1 tsp ground turmeric 🌿
- 1 tsp ground cumin 🌿
- 1 tsp red chili powder 🌶️
- 1 tsp garam masala 🌿
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter 🧈
- 1 cup tomato puree 🍅
- 1 cup heavy cream 🥛
- Salt to taste 🧂
- Cilantro for garnish 🌿
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, ginger paste, garlic paste, turmeric, cumin, chili powder, and garam masala. Add the chicken pieces and stir until well coated. Marinate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results. 🍲
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken pieces and sauté for 5-7 minutes, or until they start to turn golden brown. 🍗
- Stir in the tomato puree and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt to taste. 🧂
- Transfer the chicken mixture to a baking dish and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and tender. 🔥
